Today we have been having a bubble lot of fun. Room 6 was on Bubbles and water fun today and F....U.....N we had!!!!

Wet and Wild Discovery...
What an afternoon..... The Junior Stars had to split their Discovery Time this week because the fabulous teachers thought that since it was going to be hot we would have.......Fun in the Sun Water Games.
The children were put into 2 groups - In the morning Rooms 1,2,3 with the year 0-1 children had their water fun and rooms 5,6,7,8 and 20 with the year 2-3 children, had their time after lunch at 1.30pm.
We had 2 water slides, lots of hoses, some buckets, water bombs and water toys. For those who didn't want to go swimming, they got to hang out in Room 6 with Miss Gallagher making some fun art work and listening to the groovy music we have. We were able to look out the window and see what the others were doing and see how much fun they were having as well.

Our Fabulous Friday
Felix and Lexus are our Reporters today. Here is what they had to say about Discovery....
Felix said "I made a frisbee in Discovery today. First I got 2 circles and the out a little bit in the middle. I made this in room 8 and there was lots of rubbish so I picked a little bit of rubbish up and then I had a try of this before I came back to class."
Lexus said "I made a love heart out of beads and icecream sticks. I made it with some pipe cleaners as well. I made it for my Mum to go in the baby's room."
It is Valentines Day today so we had a lot of activities to do about this. All the girls made cards and love hearts and all the boys were in Room 7 - Construction time!!!!

Discovery Time!!!!
Today was our first day of Discovery Time for the year. Each Friday we are having Discovery Time where we get to go to lots of different classrooms and choose what we would like to do. Some of the activities were - Making a collage of what we did in the holidays, gardening, construction, play cricket and roller painting pictures.
Here are some of our thoughts from today's discovery time.....
Shawnee - Tilly and I made a telephone kite in Room 7 with Mr Ayres. First coloured the circles in and then we put some string and paper on.
Molly - I made a special gadget in room 6. It is a Walkie-Talkie. I had some special spots to stick to things. It can be two things at once.
Jack - I played with my friends and I played soldiers with Oliver. I liked shooting the bad soldiers. We had a tank.
Hayden - I played with Alexander, finding out what kinds of things you can do with hoola hoops. We can throw them over our heads and you can throw them and chase them.
Malik - I played with Hayden. We played with the balls and kicked it.
Oliver - I was driving the tank when we were soldiers. We could use the area as an army base. Jack dug a hole to see the army as it was coming to us.
Tamai - I played soccer on the court with Tyler and all the boys. We also played duck, duck goose. I had a turn and everyone was scattering everywhere.
Alexander - Hayden and I played with the hoops and rolled then all around, and chased then and we tried to follow then everywhere.
Rachel - I made a book and it has got all the things in it that I did in the holidays. My favourite picture is of me going to the movies.
Felix - First I played with Jack and then I went to play and run on the court. I went to the bubble place and the bubbles just popped.
Tyler - I played with Tamai and we played soccer. It was on the court. I scored a goal and won 10 - 5.
Brianna - I was in room 6 and made a collage showing all the things I did in the holidays. It was fun and I liked the pictures.
Lucy - I made a picture in room 6 with flowers on it. It was very colourful.
Tillie - Shawnee and I made a kite that is a telephone. We are going to try it out to see if it will work at lunchtime. When it is a windy day we can use this kite to run in the wind with.
WOW what a lot of wonderful happenings during Discovery Time today.

Our First Day Back
It was wonderful to meet you all today and to also meet your lovely parents. We spent our first day getting to know each other and creating some fantastic art that I have put up onto the wall. Remember to show someone special in your family when you come to school tomorrow.
